Life is Precious...

What a beautiful weekend we had! But when I got to work this morning, I had a reality check, and it made me realize how precious life is! When I started working at the Olive Garden, every Monday I work the lunch shift, which is NOT very busy at all. The first week I was there I met a family who is the most amazing family ever!! They have 3 boys and I remeber the first time I met them, I looked up to ask how many was in their party and when I looked up all I saw was a bald little head and two BIG green eyes looking at me, and a little voice said "5 please"! with the biggest smile ever!! This little boy has cancer. My heart sank instantly! Well for the past 7 Mondays Conner and his family have come to the Olive Garden because it is Conners only request! Let me tell you what this family goes through on a weekly basis, is down right horrible, little lone the pain of watching your child go through this, but this family ALWAYS is smiling, and happy. Two Monday's ago, Conners mom walked into the Olive Garden alone and my heart sank once again, and she had a big smile on her face and she asked me if they could sit at our family table. I thought the worst and she said that she would go help her husband get the kids, as they approached the door, I could see Conner and was so realived, ( I have become attatched to this little guy even though I see him for a mere 3 minutes every Monday)His Mom mentioned that it would be Conners last time to eat at the Olive Garden, because doctors told him that he only had a week if that to live. I tried to hide my tears, but one dripped down my cheeck, I didn't want him to see but he must of, this little guy who can barely walk, talk or function, looked up at me and as said, I quote "Don't be sad, soon I will live with Jesus and be with you always, not just on Mondays" Oh my gosh I meant something to this chlid, I am not just the hostess at the OG..As they left I felt like part of me was gone! The one thing I find hard to believe is this family was alway smiling and had a positive attitude, because of the faith they have in Jesus!! HOW AWESOME! Sadly his mother came in today and Conner did lose his fight with cancer and I spoke with her for a moment, and instead of crying, I felt like Conner is the angel who has made me realize not to take life for granted, enjoy the simple things in life and mostly TRUST IN THE LORD! God will help you through anything, and Conner is proof of that <3

Tough Questions??

Yes, this is what happens when you have a 5 year old little boy! For the past 4 years of his life, when he would ask me a question that I didn't really know how to answer I would just tell him an answer I would hope he would understand...well those days seem to becoming to an end! Boo! This past Christmas, santa came early and hid all the kids presents downstairs under the steps, just like everyother year! Well this year Kyle was playing downstairs and "found" SOME of the presents...to make a long story short the blanket hid most of them, so the ONE present he found and brought up, I told him Chole bought it for him. Case Closed! Well Kyle recently went to the dentist, and he has a loose tooth, and the dentist said it needs to come out soon because of his big tooth trying to come through, may/could cause some problems. So today on the way home from school, he decides to ask me some innocent questions about the toothfairy and santa, and than ONE that I didn't see coming and made me about lose control of the car and drive off the road!
They are as follows:

* Mom, how does the toothfairy get into our house? answer - Magic
* How much money will I get? answer - Um, probably $2.00
* Mom, how does santa fly? answer - Magic
* Mom HOW DO BABIES GET IN YOUR TUMMY? ANSWER - NO ANSWER FOLLOWED BY HANG ON MOMMY IS CHOKING AND WILL GET BACK WITH YOU ON THAT!!!

HOLY CRAP HE IS 5, WELL NOT TILL APRIL BUT STILL ISN'T HE SUPPOSED TO ASK ME THAT LATER. LIKE WHEN HE IS 10 or 20? WHEN I CAN BE BETTER PREPARED! THANK GOD WE HAVE BEEN HOME FOR AN HOUR AND HE HASN'T SAID ONE MORE WORD ABOUT IT!

I can't wait for my mom to get out of work to tell her this one, you never know what kids will come up with, but I hope he waits until he is at least 30 to ask me that question again or I may just have a heart attack, or get in a car wreck for that matter! ;)

What were we thinking??

Becoming a mom is the BEST thing that can happen to a women, if you ask me. I LOVE IT!!! For the past 4 and 1/2 years I have been a stay at home mom and housewife ( oh lord that makes me feel really old to say housewife) Anyway, out of the blue I decided that taking care of my kids, taking care of my hubby, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, and so on....just wasn't enough..so I decided to go back to school, YES SCHOOL. I have never been a fan of school, but always kind of regretted not finishing up. So on to school I go, I am now a full time student at Lansing Community College, to make my dream come true to be a nurse! Last sememster I took the nursing assistant course to become a CNA, the minute we graduated ALL of the hospitals went on a hiring FREEEZE, Yes just my luck! I really do NOT want to work in a nursing home so I am waiting on the good ole hospital to open up! If that isn't enough, my hubby is a GM employee and back in December he got laid off for a month, so in a big panic I ran to about 50 restaurants to apply for a job just to help us out, and the good old Olive Garden Hired me right there on the spot! Well Scott went to back to work in January and I am STILL working at the Olive Garden 30 hours per week!! I can't imagine anyting else right now, my head already feels like it may explode at any moment! Scott is also a full time student and will graduate in May of next year with his bachelors degree in Industrial Management, He will be getting his Masters from CMU following that! WOW!! all I can say is WHAT WERE WE THINKING! taking all of this on?? :) Thank God I have the best two children a girl could ask for <3

We also have Moe,a chocolate lab! who was given to me by my dad when he no longer could care for him! We got him when he was 3 months old and just a little puppy, he turned 2 on January 7th the day after Chloe turned 2! He is a great dog too! They all keep us very busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way, LIFE IS GREAT! ** (just a quick note, my first problem with the blog, my photos are not uploading, I will try tomorrow)**

Welcome to our blog!

Welcome to our blog! I have been following some blogs and think it is a great way to share a little of your life with your family and friends! Beware I am so new at this, that this could be a potential disaster since computers and I just became friends! (I just learned how to upload a photo) Ya! I know it's a bit ridiculous! Just to update you on what has been going on, Scott and I have been married for 3 years this March, hard to believe it's been 3 years already. Kyle will be turning 5 this April and is growing up to be such a little man already. He knows how to fix things I can't figure out, (I know not too suprising :) he loves to ride his 4-wheeler, his snowmobile and his new (well not New) golf cart (this thing is SO loud the entire neighborhood knows when he is riding his golf cart :) and he recently go a new dirt bike, ya I know the kid owns more ATV's than most adults. Here is a photo of Kyle and one of his toys :)

Chloe is my tomboy she turned 2 years old on January 6th! She is growing up so much, she follows Kyle around and loves to do EVERYTHING he does. Potty training is very interesting she wants to stand at the toilet NOT sit...its very interesting!! She is SO busy and keeps me on my toes!
